Marcus Dupree

Marcus Dupree was a Black American political science student from Atlanta, Georgia, who later became a civil rights attorney. During the 2025–2026 academic year, he was a Howard University sophomore, a resident assistant in Cook Hall, and Logan Weston’s suitemate in suite 312.

Early Life and Family

Marcus grew up in Atlanta. His father, Terrence Dupree, worked in local politics, and his mother, Tamara Dupree, was an educator. Marcus was the middle of three brothers, between Cameron and Josiah.

Education and Career

Marcus entered Howard University in fall 2024 and studied political science. As a sophomore, he served as a resident assistant in Cook Hall and lived in a two-bedroom suite with Logan.

Marcus belonged to Logan’s Howard friend group with Jaya Mitchell, Deon Wright, Aaron Lancaster, and Liana Simmons.

After completing his undergraduate studies at Howard, Marcus attended law school and became a civil rights attorney. His law school, degree dates, employer, and specific area of civil rights practice have not been established.

Personality and Communication

Marcus was social, funny, observant, and comfortable filling a room. His humor was warm and inclusive, and he adjusted quickly when another person needed quiet or space. He was organized in some areas and cheerfully disorderly in others: he color-coded his notes but often lived out of a laundry basket.

Marcus spoke with an Atlanta inflection and an animated range of pace and pitch. He called Logan “Doc” or “Mini M.D.” and used teasing to make care feel ordinary rather than clinical.

Personal Style and Daily Life

Marcus wore his locs pulled back from his face. His side of the Cook Hall suite included a Morehouse pennant from his father and a laundry basket that undercut the otherwise orderly room.

He maintained shared lists with Logan before move-in and complained about the effect of Washington weather on his allergies.

Family and Core Relationships

Logan Weston

Marcus and Logan began communicating before move-in and became suitemates in August 2025. Marcus gave Logan and his family space to settle in without turning the gesture into a performance.

During Logan’s finals-week breakdown, Marcus stayed on the bathroom floor with him through migraine-related vomiting. Their friendship remained part of Logan’s life through his accident, medical leave, return to Howard, and later career.

The Howard Crew

Marcus’s louder social energy contrasted with Deon’s stillness and Aaron’s procedural style. Jaya and Liana brought their own practical forms of support, and the group treated Logan as a peer despite his younger age.
