Cassidy worked in public relations and communications. Her professional practice emphasized clear messaging, privacy boundaries, and the responsible handling of personal information during public crises.

Following Logan’s December 2025 accident, Cassidy formalized #LightForLogan after Howard classmates and Baltimore neighbors began sharing firsthand stories about him and his Howard friends launched a GoFundMe and meal train. With the family’s permission, she established the campaign’s public channels on December 14, coordinated the existing support efforts and verified updates, set privacy boundaries, and protected the Weston family from direct media demands while they remained at the hospital. The fundraiser exceeded $150,000 in its first forty-eight hours and later approached $1 million as candle posts and community stories drew international participation.

Cultural Identity and Heritage

Cassidy was Black American. Her approach to communications included close attention to the risks of turning a Black family’s medical crisis into public spectacle.
