Catriona Baird
Catriona “Cat” Baird was a Scottish NICU nurse born and raised in Glasgow. She was the wife of pediatric cerebrovascular neurosurgeon Harry Gallagher and the mother of speech-language pathologist Christina Gallagher.
Early Life and Background
Cat was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. She met Harry, who was from County Donegal, around college age.
Career
Cat established her career as a NICU nurse before she and Harry married. She continued using Baird professionally afterward rather than replacing the identity under which she had already built her clinical reputation. Harry told her it would be foolish to take his name and set aside an identity of her own.
Family and Core Relationships
Harry Gallagher
Cat and Harry married after both had become established clinicians. Their professional identities remained independent throughout their marriage.
Christina Gallagher
Christina was Cat and Harry’s daughter. Cat raised her in County Donegal until the family moved to Boston when Christina was thirteen.
