Marisol Cruz and Ezra Cruz

Marisol Cruz and Ezra Cruz were mother and son. Marisol raised Ezra with Rafael Cruz in the family’s Hialeah household, managed his childhood work, protected his earnings, and remained close to him throughout adulthood.

Origins and Early Relationship

Marisol became pregnant with Ezra at fifteen while she and Rafael were living in Puerto Rico. Ezra was born on July 29, 2006. Rafael went ahead to the Miami area for work, and Marisol followed with Ezra when he was about two; they established their household in Hialeah.

During Ezra’s childhood, Marisol managed his modeling and online work and protected the money he earned. The irrevocable trust documented the financial structure she used for those earnings.

Rafael’s Death and the Family Crisis

Rafael died from an accidental fentanyl overdose in 2022. Ezra found him and called 911 while Marisol and Luna were away from the home. Marisol then supported both children through the family’s grief.

Ezra’s substance use and escalating behavior demanded sustained intervention after Rafael’s death. Marisol continued advocating for him while setting boundaries intended to protect Ezra and the rest of the family. Luna’s quieter distress received less attention while the household responded to the more immediate crisis.

Adult Relationship

Ezra remained close to Marisol throughout adulthood. Their relationship continued after he moved to New York and established his music career and family.
