Jacob Keller and Mason Brooks

Jacob Keller and Mason Brooks became friends through Logan Weston and The Ride-or-Dies. Mason initially dismissed concern about Jacob but later offered practical help and included him in the group’s gatherings.

Early Dismissal and Reconciliation

When Logan expressed concern about Jacob’s absence from school, Mason responded, “Who cares?” After Jacob’s seizure and cardiac arrest, Mason asked Logan for updates and joined the other friends in agreeing to support Jacob reliably.

During an afternoon visit to the Weston home while Jacob recovered from hospitalization, Mason joined Malik, Jordan, and James in apologizing to him directly. Jacob stayed after the apologies while the friends played video games and eventually fell asleep against Logan. It was his first time sleeping with all five Ride-or-Dies present.

Health, Access, and Care

When Jacob became exhausted and faint at school, Mason recognized that he might need medical help and suggested calling the nurse. He brought Logan’s car to the side entrance, notified the teaching assistant, and offered to handle class-related logistics for the friends while Logan helped Jacob leave.

Mason participated in the group’s practice of welcoming Jacob without expecting more conversation, energy, or involvement than he could give. Jacob could watch the others play, sit quietly, or rest and remain welcome. Their consideration for his capacity helped him choose to spend time with them beyond his initial recovery.
