Logan Weston Hospital Discharge (2050) - Event¶
Overview¶
After approximately six to seven weeks of hospitalization fighting COVID, pneumonia, sepsis, septic shock, Logan finally discharged home winter 2050. Arrived exhausted beyond measure, oxygen-dependent, still fragile from crisis that nearly killed him. Immediately asked Charlie for "snuggles, gentle ones." Charlie held him in living room recliner for hours, Logan curled in Charlie's lap despite tubing and equipment, sleeping deeply for first time in over two months—finally comfortable, finally safe, finally home.
The Homecoming¶
Homecoming was profound. Logan arrived at house, first words asking for gentle snuggles with Charlie. Charlie held him carefully, both positioned safely despite medical equipment. Care team worked quietly around them while Charlie refused to move, sitting perfectly still while Logan slept and snored peacefully. Band later posted photo with Charlie's permission: Logan dead asleep in Charlie's lap, snoring, image going viral as testament to survival and power of being home.
Significance¶
Discharge marked survival but not recovery. Logan faced months of rebuilding strength, managing new complications (POTS-like symptoms, worsened autonomic dysfunction), adapting to body even more fragile than before sepsis. But being home with Charlie meant healing could begin—not just physically but emotionally, surrounded by love rather than hospital machinery.
