WNPC Orlando Telemedicine and Sleep Lab

The Telemedicine Suite and Sleep Lab at Doc Weston's PH occupy separate wings branching off the north side of the Main Street corridor -- the telemedicine suite positioned mid-campus for staff convenience, the Sleep Lab at the far end of the corridor where the campus is quietest and farthest from the entrance's activity.

The telemedicine suite follows the WNPC standard, serving Florida patients and the broader Southeast US through the national WNPC network. The Orlando site's geographic position -- Central Florida, accessible from the entire Southeast -- makes its telemedicine program a key access point for patients in states where WNPC has no physical presence: Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, the Carolinas, Tennessee. Bilingual (English/Spanish) platform operation serves Florida's significant Spanish-speaking population.

The Sleep Lab follows the Baltimore model with subtropical climate adaptations. Florida's humidity -- which permeates even well-air-conditioned buildings -- affects sleep quality in ways that northern climates do not, and the Sleep Lab's humidity control systems maintain optimal sleeping conditions (40-50% relative humidity) regardless of the 80-90% humidity outside. The suites are cooled aggressively, and the backup generator system prioritizes AC continuity alongside medical equipment -- in Florida, loss of cooling is not a comfort issue. For heat-sensitive patients, it is a medical event.

The single-story Sleep Lab's soundproofing works differently from the vertical sites. Without upper floors to insulate against, the lab contends with horizontal noise -- Florida's thunderstorms, which produce some of the loudest natural sound in the continental US, and the neighborhood's ambient noise. The soundproofing is designed for the decibel levels of a subtropical thunderstorm that drops directly overhead, because in Florida, it will.
