Nadia Beckford (Career and Legacy)

Nadia Beckford, known professionally as Nadia, was a Jamaican-Dominican vocalist, songwriter, producer, and model. She maintained a solo career alongside her work as a vocalist with Charlie Rivera and the Band (CRATB).

Career Overview

Nadia’s work was rooted primarily in reggae and also incorporated soul, jazz, R&B, and Caribbean fusion. She wrote and produced material as well as performing it.

Career Beginnings

Nadia was performing in Paterson and the New York area by the mid-2020s. She joined CRATB around 2030–2031 through a band audition, telling the assembled musicians, “I’m not here to sleep with any of you. Just want the gig,” and continued her solo work while performing with the group. Her CRATB studio recordings included ‘’Reckless Devotion’’ and ‘’Crip Time’’ in 2031, ‘’Pulse//Stillness’’ in 2033, and ‘’No Fixed Point’’ and ‘’Ritmos Hermanos’’ in 2035.

In 2023, when she was approximately seventeen, Nadia publicly criticized Procter & Gamble’s acquisition of Mielle Organics. Mielle did not become one of her later brand partners.

Artistic and Professional Identity

Nadia performed under her first name and maintained firm boundaries around her professional role. Reggae remained the principal foundation of her work as she expanded into the other genres represented in her solo and ensemble performances.

Modeling and Brand Partnerships

Nadia’s modeling work included named partnerships with Loclicious, The Loc God, Taliah Waajid, and The Wrap Life. The partnerships centered loc care and headwraps already connected to her public presentation.
