Narragansett Cottage (Ocean Beach)
The Narragansett Cottage was the Ocean Beach, San Diego, home shared by Carmen Rivera and Riley Mercer. It served as their West Coast residence while the Macon Street apartment in Brooklyn remained their primary home.
Occupancy and Domestic Use
Carmen grew up in Ocean Beach and later retained a home base in the neighborhood. The cottage connected her adult life with the San Diego community where she had been raised.
Carmen maintained a smaller painting studio in a back room of the cottage. Her main professional studio remained near the Macon Street apartment in Brooklyn.
