The Juilliard Sessions¶
Overview¶
The Juilliard Sessions is a limited-release EP by Charlie Rivera and the Band (CRATB), recorded during the band’s Juilliard years and released in 2028 as a small-run document of the group before they had fully consolidated their sound. The EP sits between the band’s formation and the breakout success of Everything Loud and Tender (2027) and Foundation (2029), and it functions in the catalog as the artifact of the band-becoming-itself rather than the band-as-such.
Background and Significance¶
The recording captures the lineup before the disability-justice framing of Crip Time (2031), before the Latin pivot of Ritmos Hermanos (2035), and before the experimental architecture of Midnight Architecture (2040). The sessions are valued for that reason: not as polished work, but as the source-material for everything that followed.
