Background and Production¶
Christina Echevaria came to Fifth Bar Collective as part of the label's mission to center marginalized voices—disabled, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent musicians who deserved platforms and professional support. Charlie recognized in Christina an artist whose talent exceeded the opportunities she'd been given, and committed Fifth Bar's resources to creating an album worthy of her abilities.
Production followed Fifth Bar Collective's established practices: trauma-informed studio environment, flexible scheduling that accommodated both Christina's and Charlie's access needs, and creative processes that prioritized emotional authenticity over conventional perfection.
