CRATBrats Lexicon

CRATBrats is the self-adopted name of the CRATB fandom, combining the band's acronym with "brats" in a playful reclamation that captured the community's spirit: loud, loyal, unapologetic, and chronically ill.

Overview

Main article: CRATBrats - Fan Community

The name emerged organically in the late 2020s as CRATB's following grew, solidifying after Charlie Rivera's Grammy acceptance speech in 2030 and the viral hashtag #PukedAndPlayed. "Brats" was deliberate--the fandom embraced the term's connotations of defiance and refusal to behave, recasting disability visibility as a form of rebellion rather than inspiration.

The CRATBrats became one of the most distinctive fan communities in music, notable for their intersection of disability advocacy, jazz appreciation, and fierce loyalty to a band whose members were open about chronic illness, mental health, and the messiness of being human in public.
